Galaxy Group is a family-owned business based in Gisborne and Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand, with a deep-rooted history in agriculture and innovation. Our journey began in the 1970s when we farmed sheep and beef while also growing process crops. During this time, we developed a passion for simplifying key agricultural tasks and making them more efficient.
Pioneering Innovation in Agriculture
Our drive for improvement led to several pioneering achievements, including:
- Importing New Zealand’s first grape harvester.
- Developing the first conveyor belt system for a squash harvester.
These milestones showcased our commitment to finding practical, technology-driven solutions to improve farming efficiency and productivity.
A Shift to Horticulture
Our passion for emerging technology naturally led us to the horticultural sector, where we saw tremendous potential to equip growers with cutting-edge tools. By 2017, we imported our first Tecnofruit system, marking our entry into the orchard platform industry. Since then, we have expanded our range of platform brands to meet the diverse needs of orchard systems across New Zealand and Australia.
